MATONYA JAILED 30 YEARS FOR RAPE

Domestic worker, Joseph Matonya (26) has been sentenced to 30 years in prison and 12 lashes after being convicted of raping a student of Form II in high school Mwanagati 14 years old.Reading the judgment in Ilala District Court, Judge John Traveler said that the accused shall serve corporal punishment which he traced his six-six he went out.
 Also said Matonya will be required to pay compensation of one million shillings after finishing this button.
 Traveler judge said the defendant was convicted after the prosecution prove its charges without leaving doubt as to have four witnesses and PF3 iliyothibitisha student raped by him.
   However, attorney, Gloria Ofori claimed that the defendant be given severe punishment should be a lesson to others.
 Before sentencing, the defendant claimed that he was a guest of the Court and that his family inamtegemea to claim that he did not rape the child.
 It also claimed that this punishment imemuathiri psychologically and physically, and that he will not forget in his life.
 Claimed between November and December, 2013, parts of fruit Mwanagati, Ilala District, Matonya raped 14 year old child who is a student of Form II in high school Mwanagati.
